Being a blogger certainly has it perks and the #ZomatoMeetup events are certainly one of them.
We were very excited this week to receive an invite from Market Kitchen to attend a tasting for their new dining concept ‘Lunch In’Box‘ at the stunning Le Royal Meridien hotel. The concept is simple – customers can order a two course meal for just Dhs 75 and can be finished eating within thirty minutes.
Decadent – is the only word we can use to describe the opening event at La Patisserie Des Reves in Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall.
Housed inside the prestigious Tryano department store, you wouldn’t even know that the quaint little patisserie even existed – unless you were in the know. The patisserie is currently one of Abu Dhabi’s best kept secrets – but we’re sure that’s about to change!
Moshi is one place that we had been dying to try for some time now. Located just behind The Mall Of The Emirates in Barsha 1 – the venue is a pretty nondescript place in an area of little footfall… Yet Moshi has somehow managed to carve out quite a reputation (and dedicated foodie following) in the short time that it has been open, and after dining here, we can certainly see why.
The Friday brunch at Al Qasr is quite rightly the stuff of legend. It is rumoured to be the first Friday brunch to exist in the UAE and remains hugely popular attracting hundreds of hungry guests each and every Friday without fail. It is also arguably the biggest brunch on the Dubai dining scene with an overwhelming selection of food available, that will quite possibly cause your brain to go into sensory overload. This brunch is so large that at one point you were given a map to help you navigate your way through the various bars and food options on offer. Things have changed slightly now but it is still an extravagant affair.
We had been wanting the visit the Rosewood Hotel on Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah island for quite some […]
We had been wanting to visit Seven Sands for quite some time now, having been bombarded with appealing […]
At the end of last month we here at Out & About UAE were kindly invited by Joe’s Crab Shack to visit the restaurant on opening day and sample some of the food. We were very excited as this was the first occasion since starting the blog that we had actually been invited to write a review by an establishment. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the event and were disappointed to say the least.
Fast-forward a couple of weeks and we found ourselves by chance in The Dubai Mall. So instead of heading to one of our usual favourite spots for food (The Cheesecake Factory), the decision was made to try out the newly opened Joe’s Crab Shack, to see if we really had missed out by not attending the tasting event on opening day.
Salt has just celebrated its first birthday and although seemingly late to the game, we recently enjoyed our very first visit to this food truck phenomenon.
Salt became the talk of the UAE last year with its clever social media campaign which adopted the hashtag #FindSalt. The concept involved a travelling food truck that would reveal its location via photographic posts on Instagram. Thus encouraging customers to come and find them at secret locations throughout the Emirates. This clever marketing strategy worked exceptionally well, because nothing liked this had been attempted in the region before and it created such a hype that people would literally queue for hours to indulge in their signature burgers
Lets just get one thing out of the way – we here at Out & About UAE absolutely love a good Friday brunch!
Brunch is a pastime that we don’t really have in the United Kingdom. So we were super excited to discover the all you can eat/all you can drink mayhem of this legendary UAE tradition upon our arrival on these shores. Having worked our way through a fair number of these brunches over the past two years, we are calling it now… Olea at the St. Regis Saadiyat currently has the best Friday brunch in the capital!
Having heard so many good things about this establishment, and being in the vicinity of Masdar City this past weekend – we decided that it was about time that Out & About UAE visited Jim’s Kitchen Table. So after a quick trip on the driver-less cars (which you can read more about here), we were in the heart of futuristic Masdar city, attempting to find the restaurant with much difficulty – it would seem that signage and maps are a rarity in the future…
The UAE (like the rest of the world) is addicted to the notion of the next best thing, or the new and unique experience. Over the past few years we have seen culinary food gimmicks evolve to unprecedented levels! What began with the combining of ingredients, giving us the must have foodie item of 2013 ‘the cronut’ (half donut half croissant), has evolved into the downright bizarre – have you seen the chocolate sharwarma found in Dalma Mall?
Nowadays even the way in which our food is presented to us has to be innovative – yes we are looking at you Rogo’s, with your astounding rollercoaster delivery system. The novelty of these ideas shows no sign of letting up… So we here at Out & About UAE, were really intrigued with the concept of FrostBite – the creation of ice cream out of thin air!
