A weekend well spent at the new @vidaemirateshills meant I could start my summer vacation a few days early! The newly opened hotel offers a tranquil lifestyle hub overlooking the Emirates Golf Club and feels like an entirely different side to Dubai. Boasting some truly striking dishes for diners in the capital and an eclectic cocktail list, this is one for lovers of Indian cuisine. The restaurant from Chef Richard Sandoval replaces Toro Toro but offers many of its predecessors touch points in terms of interior design and menu concept, plus the service is MUCH improved! Our favourite short rib coca flat bread remains and the beef tiradito and sea bass coconut ceviche are wonderful new additions to the Pan-Latin menu. When Chef Massimo Bottura opens a restaurant in Dubai, it’s time to sit up and take note! Bottura’s 3 Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana topped The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2018 cementing the Italian restaurants reputation as one the world’s pre-eminent dining destinations. 🍝 We now happily welcome Torno Subito to W The Palm! A more casual dining experience than expected but one that brings hints of Bottura’s acclaimed dishes to our sandy shores. This Tagliatelle (available in a small or large portion) is said to be the chefs favourite and uses the same lamb ragu recipe from Osteria Francescana. Having made 4 visits to The Pointe in recent weeks, I can safely say that @acapelladxb currently holds the crown as my favourite restaurant in this enclave overlooking the Atlantis. With excellent food, reasonable pricing and all the fun and excitement we’re accustomed to from the Tresind brand, A Cappella is really making waves. From the varied menu of global tapas, the cheese burgers, crab kari and tandoori chicken are not to be missed. Plus the cocktail selection from our fave bartender in town @sherinejohn.john which features drinks served in barrels, cameras and a whole host of quirky glassware. For those of you who have visited The Pointe, which restaurant would be your pick? The reason behind my recent stay at the Emerald Palace by Kempinski was to attend a cookery class @allondadxb. As well as boasting a fantastic 360 degree view over the Palm Jumeirah, the restaurant combines Venetian cuisine with Asian influences. Under the guidance of Chef Ibraheem Musleh we learnt to make Asian Beef Tartare, Vegetable Hand Rolls, Hand-Rolled Pasta and Green Tea-Misu in a 3 hour interactive master class. Now I am no whizz in the kitchen but I must say that the class was not only educational but a whole lot of fun. Not too taxing and there was plenty of time to gossip, eat and drink too. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one…
